Play Your Part: Recent Community Events

As a new company in the Orange County community, we are trying to get involved as much as we can. This past week has been very busy, so here is an update of what we’ve been up to!

On Saturday, November 16th, we hosted a booth at the OC Walk Now for Autism Speaks resource fair. Approximately 7,000 adults and 2,000 kiddos attended the event at the Great Park in Irvine, CA. We had instruments for the kids to play, brochures for the parents to pick up, and even a raffle to enter. The photo above is AMAZING, right?! This young boy lined up all the instruments and went down the line…I think we’ve got a future drummer on our hands!

On Monday, November 19th, we hosted a music group at Irvine’s Pretend City. Once a month they host an Autism night which allows families with children on the spectrum to come for an evening of fun. This event allows for a smaller crowd, dimmed lights, and quieter atmosphere. Play Your Part hosted a no-cost music group for those who attended from 6-6:30pm. We planned fall-themed interventions considering it is almost Thanksgiving! We received positive feedback from parents and staff and hope to hold similar events in the near future.

That’s all for now. If you or someone you know may be interested in music therapy services in the community, feel free to contact Play Your Part, Inc. at (855) LETS-PYP (855-538-7797) or email brianna@playyourpartmusic.com. Thanks for your support.
