Heritage Montessori School

At the toddler stage, children enthusiastically absorb and process large amounts of information about their surroundings. We utilize this natural enthusiasm to introduce them to a wide range of concepts, which helps them develop the intellectual framework to gain a deeper understanding and control of their environment.

We have created a curriculum that gives our toddlers the time and space to learn how to be independent. This includes learning self-care, such as washing and dressing oneself; language development; care for the environment; fine and gross motor skills development; and much more.

Each child receives individualized attention from our experienced team of toddler guides, who understand that every child develops at their own pace.

Let’s Play Music

Play is the way that children learn! Our classes teach serious music theory, piano technique, classical music, and ear training all through play!

We teach children when they are ready to learn, i the ways that they learn best, so they become talented. Starting music lessons early on will yield a 10-year-old pianist that can play circles around a 10-year-old that started at age 8. Sight-reading, improvisation, composition, and even transposing will be second nature.

Lisa Sherwood, Midwife

Lisa is passionate about maintaining birth as a normal, physiologic process that needs to be supported. She believes the woman’s birth space needs to be a sacred, safe space where a woman can relax, allow her body to work as it was designed, and the birthing family can emerge from the process feeling encouraged, respected, and cared for with compassion through the process. She is dedicated to providing individualized care to women in a hospital setting, affording women and their families to utilize their health insurance for care, receive emergency services, and experience a seamless transition if medical care is indicated. Thus, the midwife stays with the woman throughout the process.
